Homeview Surveillance(part of HV Group) designs, installs and maintains security systems across Essex & Suffolk. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Enquiries and quotes. When you request a quote, join a waitlist or contact us, we collect the details you give us (name, contact details, property information and your requirements) so we can respond, prepare your quotation and carry out any work you instruct. This information is stored in our own customer system, hosted by us — it is not sold or shared with third parties for their marketing.

Customer records. If you become a customer we keep records needed to deliver and maintain your system — quotes, invoices, service history and warranty information — for as long as we support your installation and as required by law (typically 6 years for financial records).

Website session recording.With your consent, we record how our website is used — the pages viewed, mouse movement, scrolling and clicks — so we can see what works and fix what doesn’t. These recordings are made by our own self-hosted system and never leave our servers. Anything you type into a form is automatically masked at the moment of capture and is never stored in a recording. Recordings are kept for a maximum of 45 days, then deleted automatically. We honour your browser’s Do Not Track setting, and no recording happens unless you accept it in our cookie banner.

Advertising measurement. If you arrive from one of our adverts and have accepted cookies, we may measure that the advert led to an enquiry (for example via Google Ads conversion tracking). This tells us the advert worked — it does not give advertisers your enquiry details.

We keep cookies to a minimum. The ones we use:

• hv_consent — remembers your cookie choice itself (essential).
• hv_vid / hv_sid — anonymous identifiers used by session recording so return visits can be counted. Only set after you accept. They contain no personal details.
• Advertising cookies (Google) — only if you accept, and only used to measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email info@hvgroup.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month. This includes asking us to delete any session recording of your visit. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

We’re a security company — we treat data the way we treat buildings. Information is held on our own systems with access limited to staff who need it, protected by authentication, encryption of sensitive values and audit trails.
